What is THE PRO?
The greatest athletes from across sport tee it up in The PRO, a new competitive golf series designed to find out once and for all who’s the best on the links.
Athletes have a long love affair with golf, but no one has ever put the best players to the test, until now.
A competitive series of golf tournaments set at some of the nation’s most iconic venues, THE PRO sets out to blend the passion of some of sport’s greatest athletes with the competitive fire that is aways burning. Each year, current and past pros from across the worlds of baseball, basketball, football and hockey will play in a host of sport-specific tournaments to see who is the best, and a match play event where teams from all four sports face off. The playing field may change, but the competition never ends.
THE PRO CONSISTS of two types of competition.
THE PRO CUP — A RYDER CUP STYLE MATCH PLAY EVENT
THE PRO CUP is an annual team competition that brings all four sports leagues together in a Ryder Cup-style match play tournament to determine which league prevails on the course for the ultimate bragging rights. Captains will lead a 12-player team from each league as players go head-to-head in a three-day match play event that includes doubles and singles matches.
THE PRO LEAGUE TOURNAMENTS — 54-HOLE, TOUR-STYLE STROKE PLAY EVENTS
Each year, four stroke-play tournaments centered around each sport will let current and past professionals battle it out for the ultimate bragging rights. Players will participate in two practice rounds, a pro-am and a three-day tournament that replicates the feel – and the pressure – of a professional golf tournament. The PRO will take place at a host of iconic golf venues, testing the mettle of some of the most talented and accomplished athletes in new ways.
